I painted at a favorite place last Sunday with MOPAPA – the Audubon Center at Riverlands Bird Sanctuary across the Mississippi from Alton, IL. While working to birdsong, we saw trumpeter swans, pelicans and numerous geese and ducks. The lyrical pattern of trees is what attracted me to this scene. We had a sunny sky to start, but the clouds quickly moved in and gave us steel gray skies. I kept to the sunny side. This is a 12″x12″ oil on cradled panel.
