Another rainy day still life from this past Sunday. I tried to emphasize the pattern of the cloth in the background to make it go almost flat like some of the fauve painters (Matisse, Gaugin, et al.). This is a bit of a color riot, and it was fun to paint. I used the same palette of Lukas oils with the addition of Gamblin Asphaltum, and W&N cobalt blue. This is an oil painting on panel 11″ x 14″.
