June at Riverlands

June at Riverlands

Tried a little knife painting this past weekend with MOPAPA. The day was sunny and windy. Knife painting is a lot faster for me than painting with brushes. You get some nice big, juicy passages of paint, but it’s challenging to control the effect. I used brushes for the mid-ground features to soften the edges and to push them back from the foreground. This is a 9×14 oil on panel.
