I took a photograph while hiking with Tom last Summer. I loved elements of the image but it was poorly composed, over-exposed, etc. After manipulating it in the computer, I printed it and used the print-out as a reference for this oil painting. The printed image was 6×4 and the painting is a 24×20 oil on panel. This was a fun creative experience and has got me thinking about my brushwork and color choices for future plein air work. I plan to take this knowledge to the field soon. Please let me know your thoughts about this image and thanks!
